Ora Nui helps students gain confidence by having them perform at various events throughout the year. Ora Nui also plans a large annual showcase that allows students to show family and friends the many skills they have developed dancing for the school.
Ora Nui also does different fundraising activities to raise money for instruments, costumes and to replenish the school's scholarship fund. This fund allows low-income students to continue doing what they love - learning the dance style, music, language and culture of Tahiti.

For it's first showcase Ora Nui will be taking on the Tahitian legend of Areiti, Tahiti's Little Mermaid. It is a story about a beautiful siren thrust upon the hostile shores of Hotuarea by God of the ocean Ruahatu to teach the arrogant "Toa" Tutehauarii and his uncompromising tribe compassion. This dramatic interpretation of the legend will be performed only one night in May so make sure you save the date. We promise this is one performance you're not going to want to miss!
Saturday, May 25, 2013
Heritage High School Auditorium

Doors Open: 4:00 pm
Show Starts: 6:00 pm
In support of Diversity, the Arts and Education Ora Nui will also feature Heritage High School's ASL student interpreters for our friends in the Deaf community as well as an intermission performance by Heritage High School's Multicultural Club. Come early and you can also stop by our food booth and grab some delicious island food. Dinner tickets can be purchased for $10 at the door. All proceeds from our food sales go towards Ora Nui's dance scholarship fund - a program that allows students who otherwise would not be able to, a chance to continue learning the dance, music, language and culture of Tahiti.
